9:30 a.m. & 12:30 p.m. Reduce, Reuse & Recycle – Lake County Solid Waste Management District’s award-winning Green Team returns with their assembly-style show they perform in Lake County schools! You might catch a prize, and you’re sure to catch yourself and your family having fun being GREEN! MAIN EXPO STAGE

9:30 a.m. “Promoting Global Worming” Master Recycler Kathy Sipple will present how indoor composting year round with red wiggler worms helps to save our soil and reduce landfill waste. SEMINAR 4-H BUILDING STAGE

10:30 a.m. & 2:30 p.m. Silly Safaris live animal show returns for an unforgetable experience! Learn about reptiles, mammals, birds and bugs during this exciting, educational and fun performance! Be prepared to get called up on stage with one of the critters! MAIN EXPO STAGE

10:30 a.m. Re-purpose vs. Trash Talk: Getting more uses from something. Join Certified Master Recycler Pat Jackson as she shares ideas for re-purposing items. Hear and see lots of ideas gleaned from other recyclers or share your ideas with attendees. 4-H BUILDING STAGE 

11 a.m. Great Cloth Diaper Change: Help us break the Guinness World record! Last year, Guinness verified the new world record of 8,459 cloth diapers changed at one time at 188 qualifying locations in 18 countries and six continents. 11:30 a.m. & 1:30 p.m. Dumpster Drummers – This group’s toe tapping percussion and animated show is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. It’s music and recycling fun rolled into one! MAIN EXPO STAGE

11:30 a.m. Beekeeping Basics: If you’ve considered beekeeping or are just the slightest bit curious about this hobby, join Jerry Zimmerman, associate professor of biology, and learn the basics from someone who has been a beekeeper for almost 20 years. 4-H BUILDING STAGE

Kardio Kim & Zumba, 2 p.m. MAIN EXPO STAGE

12:30 p.m. Renewable Energy Basics – How does it work? Kevin Moore from Midwest Wind and Solar will review renewable energy basics and how to know if it’s right for you. Learn about the Solarize Northwest Indiana program and the plan to double the amount of residential and small business solar in each Solarize community. 4-H BUILDING STAGE

1:30 p.m. Learn about the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore and the role it plays in protecting the environment. Families will learn about the park’s Fire Management program, and how fire is used as a tool to help protect, preserve and restore the Indiana Dunes. Kids will get started earning their Junior Firefighter Badge and learn about being a firefighter in the National Parks. A special visit from Smokey Bear is expected. 4-H BUILDING STAGE

Reflect on the environment and your impact on it. Learn what you can do to live a greener lifestyle and instill in your children some of the knowledge and respect you have for the planet.
