Trash 2 Treasure Contest

America Recycles Week is an opportunity for everyday people around the world to celebrate sustainable approaches to living.

Finding ways to Reuse and Repurpose old items is a crucial part of a well rounded strategy to decrease the amount of waste that ends up in a landfill. That's why the Recycling & Waste Reduction District hosted the Trash 2 Treasure Reuse Contest for Porter County students grades 6 through 12. Students were tasked with making something new out of old items. Check out the winning entries below! The winners are displayed on billboards throughout Porter County.
